The Baptism . . . s

February 23, 2009

Okay, well if it's a story you want then it's a story you will get. Not really though cuz it's not really a story. Anyway, so this past Saturday was the baptism of W.B.! It was way cool because I met him like the day I got to Sikeston (he lives in Bernie) and started teaching him. Then he decided he would get baptized, and he didn't really care who did anything, so his wife made the decisions and she asked me to baptize him and Harmon to confirm. The baptism was at 6:00 so we went to the church about an hour early to set up and get the water going. Come to find out that for some reason the water heater is not working so the water was freezing cold! I was really nervous to go in there, but we did. I said the prayer right and everything and went for the plunge and then I don't know what happened. I think the cold took his breath away, and he tried to breath in while going under water. Then his foot slipped and came out of the water, but it was all good cuz he had gone all the way under. So he was like fumbling all over the font and taking me down with him! Good thing I've been working out! (lol) So I got him back up and everything worked out good.

After the baptism we found out that a member that had been excommunicated had had a disciplinary council that morning and they decided that he could be rebaptized, confirmed and ordained an elder all that day so we got invited to stay for that too, which was a private thing. It was way cool. Just looking at him makes me smile. I liked him from day one when he drove us to Sikeston from St. Louis. He is so happy to be back in the church. It's kinda hard to tell by just looking at him but you can just feel it in him. It's way cool!

Look what's happened now. I tell you a story and I run out of time to write. So I'll have to handwrite the rest later.

I'll talk to you all later! Love ya!
